Grace Sloan is an experimental filmmaker, production designer, and cultural critic based in New York City. Her film work centers the tactility and ephemerality of the medium (from glitchy VHS to hand painted, hand processed celluloid) in dialogue with film and moving picture history, often with humor. She's received a BA in Cinema from San Francisco State University and a MA in Liberal Studies from the New School for Social Research.
Her films have been shown at the Telluride Film Festival, Maryland Film Festival, Alchemy Film Festival, Montreal Underground Film Festival, Artists Television Access in San Francisco, and Anthology Film Archives. She presented “Hollywood's Evolution of (human) Good vs. (robot) Evil“ at Theorizing the Web 2017.
Her portfolio as a production designer can be found here.
